Southwestern Pennsylvania Anti-Human Trafficking Coalition
Mission Statement: To develop and maintain a network of individuals and agencies to educate the community about human trafficking and to provide emergent support to survivors.
Education- provides prevention education lectures locally, nationally, and internationally that address topics in human trafficking such as culture, globalism, sex tourism, and victim identification.
Prevention- Is dedicated to work collaboratively with organizations in Southwestern Pennsylvania where individuals are at increased risk of being trafficked with the objective of preventing human trafficking before it starts.
The Southwestern Pennsylvania Anti-Human Trafficking Coalition (SWPAAHTC) is comprised of representatives from local, state, and federal law enforcement, social services organizations, religious organizations, university representatives, and concerned citizens.
The SWPAAHTC was founded by Executive Director Dr. Mary C. Burke, Director of Training for the Doctoral Program in Counseling Psychology at Carlow University.
The Southwestern Pennsylvania Anti-Human Trafficking Coalition meets monthly at the FBI Pittsburgh Field Office located in Pittsburgh’s South Side neighborhood.
